I knew of very few children’s songs that dealt with Adam, sin, and God’s promise. This was my first attempt to write a children’s song. After the first draft, my youngest song made some changes, most notably changing my original lyrics on the second verse from “Satan gave a bad fruit” to “The serpent gave a bad fruit” to make it more biblically accurate, and “and now they have to die” to “they have to say goodbye,” and adding a third verse that emphasizes God’s faithfulness.
